Rust
Rust is a gamemode that is intended to mimic the experience of playing the game Rust. In this gametype players initially spawn in a shop in which they can join or leave teams, and buy items. The shop and the three teleporters that lead to/from it are safe zones. You cannot kill other players in these zones.
The Shop
Players can join groups by entering one of the eight team rooms. If the door to a team room is open, that means that the team is empty and can be claimed by entering the room. If the door is closed, it can be opened by a member of the team that owns the door. If the team you are attempting to join is full, you will be unable to join.
The items in the shop can be purchased by standing next to the vendor objects and waiting the set amount of time, assuming you have the resources.
There are three buffs that can be purchased at the shop, speed boost, overshields, and a radar.

Getting Equipment
There are three ways to get weapons and armor abilities in Rust.
1. Open caches.
There are two sizes of cache; Small and Large. To open a cache you must stand next to it. After the set amount of time to open, it will drop a random weapon or armor ability. Each size of cache pulls from a different random loot table, with the large cache providing better loot.

2. Buy equipment.
The shop contains a collection of ballistic weapons and armor abilities players can purchase using resources.
Each base also has a weapon vendor, with more expensive bases having better vendors.

3. Take them from others.
If a player has a weapon, as always, you can just kill them for it. Careful not to make too many enemies.

Getting Resources
In Rust, you must collect resources to buy weapons, vehicles, and bases. There are three ways to get resources.
1. Mine nodes.
There are three sizes of node; Small, Large, and Mega. To mine a node you must stand next to it. After the set amount of time to mine the node, it will drop skulls, which serve as resources. Depending on the size of the node the skulls will have different resource values.
2. Recycling weapons/objects.
To recycle a weapon you must stand next to one of the recyclers. A message will appear, then after the set amount of time the weapon you are holding will be deleted and you will be given resources in return. This is the main purpose of the flag and power core in the gamemode. The bombs can also be recycled.
3. Take them from others.
This method is self explanatory. Other players will be farming nodes and their resources can quickly become your own. If you are killed and you have more than 100 resources you will drop 1/2 of your resources as skulls. All player dropped skulls are worth 50 resources.
Another way to take resources from players is by raiding their base. Bases can be raided using bombs, which can either drop from large caches or be bought from the shop. A bomb can be placed on the wall of a base (always next to a door) by walking up to the wall while holding the bomb. After the bomb is planted it will blow up the wall after a set time. Be aware that more expensive bases will require more bombs to raid.

The Bases
To buy a base it must first be unowned. If it is you can check the price by standing inside of the buy shape. If you have enough resources you will be prompted to stay inside the shape to buy the base.
Once you own it, the doors will open for you and your teammates. You can use the storage inside of your base to safely house your resources, be aware that stored resources can be stolen if your base is raided.
To store resources, locate a storage with the label Deposit. Stand next to it to deposit a multiple of 100 resources. Each storage node has a set value of resources. If you do not own a base there are public storage locations to transfer resources between teammates.
Higher tier bases come with perks like turrets for defense, better weapons/vehicles to buy, and more storage.
When you want to move to a different base, all of your teammates must stand inside of the sell base shape. This will refund each teammate 1/4 of the value of the base.

The Nuke
The nuke is the only way (other than the host) to end the game of Rust. The nuke can be purchased like any other item at a hidden location. Buying the nuke for 7500 resources triggers Armageddon to begin. A set time after the nuke is triggered, the game will end.
Editing the gamemode/map
With the launch of the Custom Game Browser I have noticed many people have an interest in creating/editing the maps. Due to the large amount of items spawned during the course of the game (mostly the skulls) the maps need to have a good amount (~50) of extra map props. This is due to a limitation of the Halo: Reach engine where the game is capped to a certain amount of objects that can be on the map at the same time. If you notice bugs like doors not functioning or skulls having no value in your maps, there are too many objects on the map.
